Verb to Have in the Past Tenseفعل التملك في الحالة الماضية
Statement: I (you, he, she, it, we, you, they) worked yesterday.أنا، هو عملنا أمس Negative: I (you, he, she, it, we, you, they) did not (didn’t) work yesterday.أنا هو، ... لم نعمل أمس Interrogative: Did I (you, he, she, it, we, you, they) work yesterday?هل أنا، هو، ... عملنا أمس Short answer: Yes I (you, he, she, it, we, you, they) did.الجواب القصير: نعم أنا، هو، ... عملنا No I (you, he, she, it, we, you, they) didn’t.لا أنا، هو، ... لم نعمل NOTE: Did is not used with was and were. ملاحظة لا نستعمل Did مع was or were . Example: I was busyأنا كنت مشغول were you busy?هل كنتم مشغولين They were not at home.لم يكونوا في المنزل Were they at home? هل كانوا في المنزل Principal Parts of a verb: English verbs have four principal forms:الفعل لديه أربع حالات وهي: 1. The simple form: is the form that is found in the dictionary, it is the base form with no endings on it (no final-s, -ed or –ing).الشكل العادي، وهو الشكل الموجود في القاموس والذي لم نزد عليه اي حرف 2. The simple past: form ends in –ed for regular verbs, most verbs are regular, but many have irregular past forms. الفعل الماضي وهو الفعل الذي ينتهي بـ ed في أخره ولكن هناك أفعال ماضية لا نزيد عليها ed في أخرها وتسمى الأفعال الخارجة عن القاعدةIrregular . 3. The past participle: also ends in –ed for regular and irregular verbs). It is used in perfect tense and passive. الماضي الغير محدد ينتهي بـ ed للفعل العادي والغير عادي. 4. The present participle: ends in –ing (for both regular and irregular verbs). It is used in progressive tense (present and past). المضارع الغير محدد ينتهي بـ ing بالنسبة للفعلين العادي والغير عادي. The simple past is used to talk about activities or situations that began and ended in the past. Most simple past verbs are formed by adding –ed to a verb. These are the regular verbs. الفعل الماضي يستعمل ليتحدث عن أعمال أو أحداث حصلت في الماضي وأنتهت في الماضي. معظم الأفعال الماضية تتشكل عبر زيادتنا حرفين وهم ed للفعل وهذه الأفعال نسميها الأفعال العادية.
